Authors note: I have or might have used some pieces of other people's fanfic though I doubt it. Even so I dedicate this story to them. I also want people to e-mail me and tell me what they liked, disliked,or outright hated in this story and tell me if it's a piece of romantic bologna, neutral, or a dislikable story they'll never read again.

Mulan and Shang were taking a stroll by the Fa family garden because Shang was going to go back to his home in northern China. This was after they had a chance to get to know each other and had fallen hopelessly in love with one another.
Mulan thought he was acting a little nervous. So she asked him about it.

"Shang what's wrong?"
"It's no use pretending with me, Shang. I know you very well. What's wrong?"
"Nothings wrong. Mulan, I have something to tell you come, sit."
She knew by the sound of his tone that what he was about to say to her was important. She eyed him curiously. But obeyed and asked him no other questions.
He reached for her hand and enveloped it with his larger one.

"Mulan, will you marry me?"

She gasped involuntarily as her shock gave way to her amazement. He loved her, he wanted to be with her for the rest of his life.

She looked into his eyes for a moment. They showed him all the emotions words could never convey.

He wrapped her in a warm embrace and kissed her temple.

He suddenly said, "If you had said no I'd have gladly strangled you."
She said, "I haven't said anything yet, "she joked. But he knew that her answer was yes even if she had said it . It was so plainly written on her beautiful face. He extended his hand to help her up, knowing that she would be his forever. Safe in their knowledge of their love, they walked home hand in hand. Knowing it would help them perservere through all of life's hurdles no matter what hurdles they may be.
